St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 3, 2018 – Washington University in St. Louis wraps up a two-game road trip at Elmhurst College (1-3, 0-3 CCIW) on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. The Bears are coming off a 44-21 win at North Park University, WashU's first road win since 2016.

THE SERIES  – WashU and Elmhurst are meeting for the first time in school history

THE COACHES – WashU head coach Larry Kindbom (Kalamazoo, 1974) is in his 30th season at WashU, with a record of 180-115 (.610). His 180 wins rank him as the all-time winningest coach at WashU. Overall, in 36 seasons, Kindbom is 208-145-1 (.589).

Elmhurst College head coach Ron Planz (Carthage, 2001) took over the squad prior to the 2014 season and is the 19th football coach in school history. Planz has a 17-27 (.386) overall record in five seasons. He spent five seasons at Minnesota State, Mankato and five years at Manchester prior to taking over at Elmhurst.

COCCIA PICKS UP CCIW AWARD..AGAIN – For the second-straight week, senior kicker Charles Coccia was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Special Teams Player of the Week. Coccia converted all eight kicks and scored 14 points in the win at North Park. He made field goals of 20, 23 and 24 yards, and converted all five extra points.

DAVIDSON GARNERS NATIONAL HONOR – Junior quarterback Johnny Davidson was named to the Team of the Week on Monday. Davidson completed 37-of-41 passes for a career-high 452 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win at North Park.

KINDBOM HONORED BY AFCA – Head coach Larry Kindbom has been named the honorary head coach of the 2018 Allstate Insurance Company and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team. In 2017, he went on a seven-day mission trip through Iraq, where he visited 10 different refugee camps. The 2018 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®will be recognized on the field during a halftime presentation at the 2019 Allstate®Sugar Bowl®.

MILESTONES – Senior linebacker Jake Coon and senior defensive back Ben Marcus will make their 25th-straight start Saturday at Elmhurst.
