THE SERIES – North Central leads the all-time series with WashU, 3-1, but the Bears upset the 14th-ranked Cardinals in the last meeting 16-13 on Sept. 22, 2007 in Naperville, Ill.
THE COACHES – Head coach Larry Kindbom (Kalamazoo, 1974) is in his 29th season at WashU, with an overall record of 175-111 (.612). His 175 wins rank him as the all-time winningest coach at WashU. Overall, Kindbom ranks 13th in active NCAA coaches with a 203-141-1 (.590) record in 35 seasons as a college football coach.
North Central head coach Jeff Thorne (Eastern Illinois, 1993) is 21-4 (.840) in his three seasons as a collegiate head coach, all of which have come at North Central. Thorne is the 25th head coach in the history of the program.
COACH TO CURE MD - The two coaching staffs in today's game will be wearing special arm patches in honor of the AFCA's Coach to Cure MD program. This is the 10th year coaches around the country join together to raise funds and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. HOME SWEET HOME – WashU has posted an 18-5 (.783) record at Francis Field the past five seasons. The Bears had their school-record nine-game win streak snapped in a 39-28 loss to Centre College on Sept. 17, 2016.
