St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 24, 2015 – Washington University in St. Louis junior defensive lineman Josiah Situmeang has been named to the 2015 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Football All-Sportsmanship Team, as announced Tuesday by the conference.
Established in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play amongst all competitors.
Situmeang started all 10 games for the Bears and finished fourth on the squad with 43 tackles. He also had a team-high 11.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles. A second-team all-SAA selection, Situmeang was sixth in the conference in tackles for loss and sacks.
He earned D3football.com Team of the Week honors on Nov. 10, and was also the WashU Defensive Player of the Game vs. Millsap College (10/24) and at Hendrix College (11/17). Situmeang has recorded 92 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and eight sacks in 30 career games.
WashU finished the 2015 season with a 6-4 overall record, securing its 21st winning season under head coach Larry Kindbom. The Bears tied for fourth place in the SAA standings with a 5-3 record.
