WashU and Millsaps Continue SAA Play Saturday in St. Louis

St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 20, 2015 – The Washington University in St. Louis football team (4-2, 3-2 SAA) continues Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play at home against Millsaps College (1-5, 0-4 SAA) on Saturday, Oct. 24. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Francis Field.

GREEN DOT - WashU will be wearing green jerseys Saturday to promote WashU's Green Dot bystander intervention program. WashU Athletics is partnering with the Relationship & Sexual Violence (RSVP) Prevention Center on campus to raise awareness and education about the importance of creating a community where violence isn't tolerated. The Green Dot Program strategy empowers everyone to play a part in creating a culture of respect. The one-of-a-kind game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off to support campus programming and services via RSVP and the campus Green Dot Program.

THE SERIES - WashU and Millsaps are meeting for the ninth time in school history – and for the first time since 1987. Millsaps leads the all-time series between the two teams 8-0. The teams first met in 1978.

THE COACHES -  Head coach Larry Kindbom (Kalamazoo, 1974) is in his 27th season at WashU, compiling a record of 164-103 (.614). His 164 wins rank him as the all-time winningest coach at WashU. Overall, in 33 seasons, Kindbom is 192-133-1 (.590), and is the fifth-winningest active NCAA Division III head coach.

Millsaps head coach Aaron Pelch (Weber State, 2001) is in his sixth season at Millsaps, and eighth season as a collegiate coach. Pelch served as assistant head coach at Millsaps in 2007 and 2008, and was an assistant special teams coach for the Oakland Raiders in 2009. Pelch has posted an 31-24 (.564) overall record at Millsaps.
