THE SERIES - WashU and Sewanee are meeting for the 22nd time in school history – and for the first time since 1977. Sewanee leads the all-time series between the two teams 13-8. The teams first met in 1902.
THE COACHES - Head coach Larry Kindbom (Kalamazoo, 1974) is in his 27th season at WashU, compiling a record of 163-103 (.613). His 163 wins rank him as the all-time winningest coach at WashU. Overall, in 33 seasons, Kindbom is 191-133-1 (.589), and is the fifth-winningest active NCAA Division III head coach.
Sewanee head coach Tommy Laurendine (Lenoir-Rhyne, 1990) is in his fifth season leading the Tigers. Laurendine was named head coach and offensive coordinator at Sewanee in 2011 after serving as offensive coordinator at The Citadel. Laurendine has posted a 15-30 (.333) overall record at Sewanee.
