Fade Oluokun Named to BSN Preseason All-America Team


St. Louis, Mo., July 21, 2014 – Washington University in St. Louis senior linebacker Fade Oluokun has been selected to the 2014 Beyond Sports Network Preseason Division III All-America Team, as announced Monday by the organization. Oluokun, a third-team selection, was one of 93 players named to the preseason All-America Team.

Oluokun, who stands 6-foot, 230 pounds, was a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) honoree in 2013. He led the team in sacks (fours) and tackles for loss (14), and was second in tackles (73). Oluokun, who ranked in the top-five in the UAA in three categories, made a season-high 12 tackles in a 17-10 NCAA First Round loss at No. 20 Franklin College Nov. 23. He also had 11 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack in 17-7 loss at No. 9 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Sept. 7.

In 28 career games, Oluokun has 145 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, six pass break-ups and four sacks. He is a two-time first-team all-UAA selection and UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week honoree.

Washington U. finished the 2013 season with an 8-3 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Division III Playoffs for the first time since 1999 and second in school history.
