Elsah, Ill., April 23, 2016 — Senior Max Golembo and junior Ben Browdy each drove in three runs to lead the WashU baseball team to a 15-4 win in seven innings at Principia College Saturday in Elsah, Ill.
Golembo was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs, while Browdy was 2-for-3 with a run scored, home run and three RBIs.
Junior Bill Heisler (3-1) picked up the win and did not allow a run in four innings pitched. He gave up four hits and walked one batter with two strikeouts.
WashU won its second-straight game to improve to 24-13, while Principia fell to 8-25. The Bears swept the season series from the Panthers.
The Bears scored four runs on five hits in its first at-bat. Junior Christian Santos drove in the first run of the game with an RBI single, and then Browdy homered to make it 3-0. A two-out RBI single by senior Kyle Kozak pushed the advantage to 4-0.
WashU made it 7-0 with three runs in the second after an RBI triple by junior Austin Darmawan, a double by Golembo and an RBI single by Browdy. Golembo doubled in the fourth to drive in a run as WashU pushed across three runs to make it 10-0.
Darmawan extended his hitting streak to 13 games going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. The Bears had 11 hits in the win.
WashU plays a doubleheader at Spalding University (22-11) in Louisville Sunday, April 24, at Noon (ET).
