Bears Ends Season With 1-0 Loss to No. 3 New Jersey

Lynchburg, Va., November 17, 2007 – The No. 10 Washington University in St. Louis women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 3 College of New Jersey in the NCAA Sectional Semifinals on Saturday afternoon in Lynchburg, Va. The Bears end their season with a 17-4 overall record.

Dana DiBruno scored the game-winning goal for The College of New Jersey at the 81:08 mark. Senior goalkeeper Carrie Sear deflected a corner kick out 15 yards, where DiBruno corralled it and one-timed a shot to the near corner for the lone goal of the game.

College of New Jersey (19-0-1) advances to the Sectional Championship on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. (ET), against the winner of Lynchburg College and No. 11 Emory University.

Sear made four saves in the loss for the Bears in her final game with the Red and Green. The College of New Jersey outshot Washington U., 17-10, including 11-5 in the second half.
