Washington U. Track and Field Competes at Butler Twilight
Indianapolis, Ind., May 3, 2008 – The Washington University men’s and women’s track and field teams compete at the Butler University Twilight Meet in Indianapolis, Ind., on Saturday, May 3.
The men’s and women’s squads both took first place in the 4x400-meter relay. The women’s team of junior Erika Wade, junior Danielle Wadlington, sophomore Molly Schlamb and senior Angela Hartman posted a time of 4:02.37, while the men’s foursome of senior Marcus Woods, junior Tanner Coghill, freshman Ben Harmon and freshman Skyler Moots finished in 3:23.67.
Senior Tricia Frisella also posted an individual win for Washington U., taking the 3,000-meter run in 10:12.25, as did senior Morgen Leonard-Fleckman in the pole vault with a height of 3.70 meters. Other strong finishers for the WU women came from Hartman, who placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.66 and Schlamb who grabbed third in the 1,500-meter run, finishing in 4:51.90.
For the men’s team, sophomore Keith England was the runner-up in the javelin with a toss of 55.67 meters, Harmon grabbed fourth in the pole vault with a height of 4.15 meters and sophomore Alex Bearden came in fifth in the 5,000-meter run, posting a time of 15:10.58.
The Washington U. men’s and women’s track and field teams will be back in action from Thursday-Friday, May 8-9, at the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill. |
