Tyler Nading Named All-American by DIII News
Beaverton, Ore., March 26, 2008 – Washington University in St. Louis junior forward Tyler Nading capped his third season on the Danforth Campus by being named honorable mention All-America by DIII News, the publication announced in its April issue.
Nading, a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, averaged 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and a UAA-best 2.2 steals per game for the Bears. He scored a career-high 31 points in a 87-76 win against UW-Platteville on Nov. 25, and then notched his 1,000th-career point in a 78-71 win at Emory on Feb. 17, becoming the 17th player in school history to achieve the feat.
In three seasons at Washington University, Nading has made 85 starts and scored 1,130 points (13.3 ppg), pulled down 470 rebounds (5.4 rpg) and picked up 145 steals (1.7 spg). He ranks fifth all-time at Washington University in steals (145), seventh in field goal percentage (.543), ninth in free-throws made (284) and tied for 15th in scoring (1,130).
Nading averaged 13.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game in Washington University’s run to its first national championship in school history. He scored 13 points and had five rebounds, four assists and four steals in the 90-68 victory over No. 2 Amherst in the title game on March 22 in Salem, Va.
