Machan Named Second-Team All-South Region

St. Louis, Mo., December 10, 2007 – Sophomore defensive back Tim Machan of the Washington University in St. Louis football team was named second-team All-South Region by D3football.com, as announced by the Web site.
Machan, a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) honoree, led the conference and was third in Division III with seven interceptions. He was also sixth on the team with 39 tackles, and had an 81-yard fumble return for a touchdown in a 33-10 win over LaGrange College on Oct. 6.
Machan brought back his team-leading seven interceptions for 171 yards, shattering the WU single-season record of 132. He was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Sept. 11, after tying a school record with three interceptions in Washington U.’s 34-3 win at Westminster College on Sept. 8.
Washington University finished the 2007 season with a 7-3 overall record and secured its 15th-consecutive winning season.
