Brooks and Northrop Earn Academic All-District Honors 
St. Louis, Mo., November 8, 2007 – Washington University in St. Louis senior offensive lineman Kevin Brooks and junior offensive lineman Paul Northrop have been named to the 2007 ESPN the Magazine College Division Academic All-District VII First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA).
Brooks and Northrop are now eligible for selection to the Academic All-America Team, to be announced Thursday, Nov. 29.
Brooks, a semifinalist for the 2007 Draddy Trophy, has started 28-consecutive games at center for the Bears. He was an honorable-mention all-University Athletic Association (UAA) in 2005 and 2006, and was a first-team ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-District VII selection in 2006. A three-time Academic All-UAA honoree, Brooks has a 3.84 grade point average and will graduate in May with a degree in finance.
Northrop jumped into the starting lineup this season notching starts in all nine games at left tackle. A two-time Academic All-UAA honoree, Northrop has a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in chemical engineering.
Washington University (6-3, 1-2 UAA) closes out regular season play at Greenville College on Saturday, Nov. 10. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Francis Field in Greenville, Ill. |
