Cutler and Hoeland Fall in NCAA Doubles Semis
Seniors Charlie Cutler and Chris Hoeland run through the NCAA Division III Doubles Championship came to an end on Sunday as the duo dropped a 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 6-4 setback to Amrit Ruspasinghe and Ben Stein of Bates College in the semifinals in Claremont, Calif.

Follmer Named DIII ITA National Coach of the Year
Washington University in St. Louis head men’s tennis coach Roger Follmer has been named the 2009 Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year, as announced by the association. Follmer earns the award for the second time in his career, also winning national Coach of the Year honors following the 2006 season.

The No. 1 Washington University men’s tennis team saw its season come to a close with a 5-3 loss to No. 2 Emory University in the 2009 NCAA Division III Third-Place Match on Thursday, May 21, at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, Calif.

Stein and Woods Earn Academic All-District Honors
Washington University junior Alex Beyer of the men’s swimming team and sophomore Isaac Stein of the men’s tennis team were named to the 2009 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII at-large first team, as announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Sophomore Max Woods earned second-team honors.
