WashU Has Three Named UAA Athletes of the Week

St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 21, 2019 – Washington University in St. Louis had three student-athletes named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week for their respective sports, as announced by the Association Monday. 

Senior Paige Lawler of the No. 3-ranked women's cross-country team, freshman Annie Mascot of the No. 2 women's golf team and junior Ellie DeConinck of the No. 4 women's soccer team each earned the honor. 

Paige Lawler – Women's Cross Country
Lawler was the top collegiate runner at the KollegeTown Sports Invitational with a time of 21:39.3. The next competitor came in with a time of 22:01.0. Lawler led the Bears to their second-straight first-place finish this season, besting 34 other programs, including six other nationally-ranked teams.  

Annie Mascot – Women's Golf
Mascot set a 54-hole school record en route to claiming medalist honors at the Lady Red Wolves Classic hosted by Arkansas State. She fired a three-day total of 5-under 211 (70-71-70) to finish first out of 56 golfers in a field of eight NCAA Division I schools. Mascot is ranked No. 1 in D3 women's golf. 

Ellie DeConinck – Women's Soccer
DeConinck had a goal and assist in a pair of road wins for WashU last weekend. She scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute in a 1-0 victory at Brandeis on Sunday, and also assisted on the game-winner in the 74th minute in the 2-1 victory at No. 21 NYU on Friday.
