Women’s Soccer Has Six Named to All-Conference Team

St. Louis, Mo., November 15, 2011 — The Washington University in St. Louis women’s soccer team had six student-athletes named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Team, as announced by the conference office. Senior Lee Ann Felder highlighted the honorees with the lone first-team selection for Washington University.

Felder, who earned all-UAA accolades for the fourth-straight season, leads the conference with nine assists from her midfield position. She has started 84 of 86 games played in her career, and ranks fifth in school history with 21 assists.

Senior Emma Brown, sophomore Kate Doyle, senior Alyssa Marulli and freshman Lillie Toaspern picked up second-team accolades, while junior Clara Jaques earned honorable-mention honors. In addition, Toaspern picked up UAA Rookie of the Year accolades.

Toaspern started 18 games in her rookie campaign, leading the conference in goals (11) and points (27). She had four game- winning goals as a freshman and had a hat trick in a 5-1 win over the University of Rochester on Oct. 28.

Washington University tied a school record with a 17-4 overall record, and finished second in the UAA with a 5-2 mark against conference foes. The Bears take on the College of St. Benedict on Friday at 7:30 p.m., in the Sectional Semifinal in Wheaton, Ill.
