Felder and Jaques Named to Jewish Sports Review All-America Team
St. Louis, Mo., January 5, 2011 — Junior midfielder Lee Ann Felder and sophomore goalkeeper Clara Jaques have been named to the 2010 Jewish Sports Review Women’s Soccer All-America Team, as announced by the publication.
Felder picks up first-team honors after earning honorable-mention accolades in 2009, while Jaques earns first-team honors for the second-consecutive season. The Bears have had 16 Jewish Sports Review All-America selections over the last five seasons.
Felder, a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) and second-team all-region selection, started all 21 games for the Bears in the midfield, scoring four goals with three assists for 11 points. She tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with two, scoring game-winners at Case Western Reserve University on Oct. 15 and against Fontbonne University on Oct. 23. Felder has started 64 of 66 career games played, and ranks seventh in all-time game-winning goals (seven) and 12th in assists (13).
Jaques, a second-team all-UAA honoree, started 19 of 21 games played in the nets posting a 10-7-2 record with a 0.71 goals against average. She also scored the first goal of her career in a 1-0 win over Alma College on Sept. 11. Jaques ranks third all-time in goals against average (0.68) and saves (185), and is fifth in wins (26).
Washington University finished the 2010 season with an 11-8-2 overall record and qualified for the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fifth-consecutive season.
