Women’s Golf Announces Addition of Three Players for 2012-13 Season

St. Louis, Mo., June 11, 2012 – Washington University in St. Louis women’s golf coach Sean Curtis announced that three student-athletes will join the Bears’ program for the 2012-13 season.

The three players hail from three different states: sophomore Mackenzie Findlay, freshman Erin Lawrence and freshman Connie Zhou.

“We are excited about our incoming recruits for the 2012-2013 season. They all have had great experiences in their high school careers and we hope to continue that at Washington University,” said Curtis, the 2012 Division III National Coach of the Year. “We have strong group of returning players including Melanie Walsh, who was abroad last year in England at Oxford. The new players we have coming will push our current players and that will make us a stronger team mentally as well as more competitive.”

The women’s golf team placed 13th at the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship, making its third-straight NCAA appearance. Washington University was ranked No. 2 in the Golf World/NGCA women's coaches' poll and placed in the top-five in nine of 12 tournaments they competed in.
