Annie Sayers Named UAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week

St. Louis, Mo., December 20, 2011 – Washington University in St. Louis junior Annie Sayers was selected as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Association.

Sayers just missed notching her first career double-double as she recorded career-highs of 17 points and nine rebounds off the bench in Washington U.’s 54-44 win over Webster University on Dec. 17. Sayers, who finished 8-of-10 from the field in the game, scored 10 points in the first half on 5-of-5 shooting for the Bears. Sayers has now scored in double-figures the past two games, and is averaging 5.8 points per game for Washington U. this season.
