Nancy Fahey to Speak at Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Clinic
St. Louis, Mo., October 6, 2010 — Washington University in St. Louis head women’s basketball coach Nancy Fahey will be one of the featured speakers at the 2010 Missouri Basketball Coaches Association (MBCA) Basketball Clinic on Thursday, Oct. 7, in Columbia, Mo.
Fahey, the 2010 D3hoops.com and DIII News Division III National Coach of the Year, will present on defensive breakdown drills match-up zone defense at the two-day clinic.
Some of the other speakers joining Fahey at the clinic will be former New York Knicks and Houston Rockets head coach Jeff Van Gundy, University of Missouri men’s basketball head coach Mike Anderson and Lindenwood University men’s basketball head coach Brad Soderberg.
Fahey led Washington University to a 29-2 overall mark and the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championship last season. She boasts an overall record of 571-100 (.851) in 24 years on the Danforth Campus, which is the fourth-highest winning percentage in NCAA history. Fahey has guided the Bears to an NCAA Division III-record five national championships and 19 University Athletic Association (UAA) titles, including the 2010 conference crown.
Washington University begins its title defense on Monday, Nov. 15, when it welcomes Fontbonne University to the Washington University Field House for its season opener. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
