Washington U.’s Jasmine Williams Named UAA Track and Field Athlete of the Week

St. Louis, Mo., February 20, 2012 – Washington University in St. Louis sophomore Jasmine Williams picked up University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, as announced by the Association.

Williams received Athlete of the Week honors for the second-straight week after a solid day at the Illinois College Alumni Classic on Friday. She won the women’s high jump with a clearance of 1.67 meters, just one centimeter short of her career-best. Williams added a runner-up finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.23m, and also finished third in the 200 with a season-best time of 26.98 seconds to lead the Washington U. women to the team title at the Alumni Classic.
