Washington U. Tennis Announces Special Olympics Clinic on May 4th
St. Louis, Mo., April 4, 2013 – The Washington University men’s and women’s tennis teams are hosting their annual Special Olympics Tennis Clinic Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Tao Tennis Center.
Instructors for the clinic include Washington University men’s coach Roger Follmer and women’s coach Kelly Stahlhuth. This is a free event and participants will receive a T-shirt and lunch compliments of Chipotle following the clinic. The commemorative T-shirts were made possible by a grant from the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
“Coach Stahlhuth and I are extremely excited about working with the many Special Olympic athletes who will be joining us for our tennis clinic May 4. It should be a lot of fun for all of those involved,” Follmer said.
In addition to a full day of activities, the clinic will focus on improving stroke technique, basic tennis skills, and building appreciation for tennis. The event is expected to draw more than 50 Special Olympic athletes from across the state of Missouri.
