Swimming and Diving Teams Begin Competition at UAA Championships

Cleveland, Ohio, February 15, 2012 - The Washington University in St. Louis swimming and diving teams opened the University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday with one student-athlete in action.
Freshman Tina Hinman was the lone competitor for the Washington U. men's and women's swimming & diving teams on Wednesday. She posted a season-best score of 313.25 to finish 10th in the women's one-meter diving event. Hinman will compete again on Friday afternoon in the three-meter diving event.
Wednesday marked the first of four days of competition at the 2012 UAA Championships, which are being hosted by Case Western Reserve University. Swimming events get underway on Thursday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. (ET), and finals beginning at 6 p.m. (ET). Men's three-meter diving will also be contested on Thursday afternoon. All swimming events are being held at Veale Natatorium, while the diving events are at William H. Johnson Natatorium on the campus of John Carroll University.
