2008 Graduate Haleigh Spencer Named Assistant Intramural Director
St. Louis, Mo., January 18, 2012 — 2008 graduate Haleigh Spencer has been named the Assistant Intramural Director at Washington University in St. Louis, Director of Athletics John Schael announced on Wednesday. Spencer began her duties on January 9.
Spencer replaces Kari Osborne, who resigned after two years to become the assistant director of Intramural and Club Sports at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Spencer arrives on the Danforth Campus after spending a year and a half as the assistant director of Marketing at Indiana University. She assisted all promotional games and activities for football, volleyball, softball men’s basketball, and assisted with marketing efforts for the NCAA Volleyball Championship and the Big Ten Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship.
Spencer also spent two years as a graduate assistant volleyball and softball coach at DePauw University from 2008-10.
She spent four years as a student event supervisor and athletic secretary while an undergrad at Washington Univerity. Spencer was also a four-year member of the volleyball team, and guided the Bears to three national championship appearances and the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championship.
Spencer received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington University in 2008, and earned a master’s degree in recreation and sport management from Indiana State University in 2010.
