Softball Announces Addition of Four Pitchers in Class of 2016
St. Louis, Mo., June 4, 2012 – Washington University in St. Louis head softball coach Leticia Pineda-Boutté announced that four student-athletes will join the Bears’ program as freshmen for the 2013 season.
The four players hail from four different states: Brooke Hofer, Tinley Park, Ill. (Victor J. Andrew), Amanda Kalupa, Elm Grove, Wis. (Brookfield East), Annie Pitkin, West Springfield, Mass. (Suffield Academy) and Jenny Weissman, Tampa, Fla. (Berkeley Preparatory School).
“I am truly excited about having these four great student-athletes join the Bears’ softball program,” said Pineda-Boutté, who is 221-77-1 (.741) in seven seasons on the Danforth Campus. “They complement our returning team very well and I expect them to compete immediately for starting roles.”
Washington University completed the 2012 season with a 28-12 overall record, its 10th-straight season with 25 or more wins. The Bears also tied for second in the UAA Conference Tournament with a 4-4 mark.
