Adam Putterman Falls in Quarterfinals of NCAA Singles Championship

Cary, N.C. May 25, 2012 – Junior Adam Putterman had his season come to a close on Friday morning with a straight-set defeat to Michael Razumovsky of Kenyon College in the quarterfinals of the 2012 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Singles Championship at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
Putterman’s run to the quarterfinals end with a 6-4, 6-0 decision to Razumovsky. He defeated Austin Chafetz of Amherst College in the round of 32 (6-1, 6-4) and Rinat Khussainov of North Carolina Wesleyan University (7-5, 6-3) in the round of 16. He closes out his junior campaign with a 32-6 singles mark and a 56-16 overall record.
Putterman teamed with freshman Ross Putterman as one of 16 teams that qualified for the doubles draw, but dropped its opening round match on Thursday to second-seeded Nick Ballou and Ray Worley of California Lutheran University 6-4, 6-1.
He enters his senior campaign ranked seventh in school history in singles wins (66) and ninth in overall victories (111).
