Bears Snap Two Game Losing Skid With 6-3 Victory Over NAIA No. 24 Lindenwood

St. Louis, Mo. April 9, 2011 – The No.5 ranked Washington University in St. Louis men’s tennis team snapped its two-match losing streak with a 6-3 win over NAIA No. 24 ranked Lindenwood University on Friday afternoon at Tao Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Washington U. trailed 2-1 after doubles play, as seniors Isaac Stein and Max Woods picked up the lone victory, an 8-1 victory at No. 1. The Bears have now trailed following doubles play in five-straight matches.

Washington U. cruised through singles play winning five of six matches in straight sets. Woods (No. 1, 6-2, 6-3), sophomore Gary Parizher (No. 3, 6-3, 6-4), sophomore Kareem Farah (No. 4, 6-0, 6-2), sophomore Bryan Haywood (No. 5, 6-3, 6-4) and freshman Naveen Chadalavada (No. 6, 6-2, 6-1) all posted victories for the Bears.

Washington University (9-4) hosts NAIA No. 18 ranked McKendree University on Saturday, April 9, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a match with Principia College at 1:30 p.m.

Bear Notebook: The Bears are 8-4 this season against nationally ranked teams … The singles victory for Farah was the 20th of his career.
