Men's Tennis Falls at NCAA Division II No. 18 Drury, 6-3
RESULTS
Springfield, Mo., February 6, 2011 – The No. 6 ranked Washington University in St. Louis men’s tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to NCAA Division II No. 18 Drury University on Sunday afternoon at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
The Bears jumped out to a 2-1 lead in doubles following victories from junior Cameron Chiang and sophomore Kareem Farah at No. 2 (8-4) and sophomores Gary Parizher and Adam Putterman at No. 3 (8-5).
Drury regrouped to win five of six singles matches, including four in straight sets. Sophomore Bryan Haywood posted the lone singles victory for the Bears, a 6-3, 7-6 win over Danny Loza at No. 6 singles.
Washington University (0-1) returns to action on Friday, Feb. 11, against NCAA Division II University of Southern Indiana. The match is slated to begin at 6 p.m., in St. Charles, Mo.
