Dylan Richter Earns Jewish Sports Review All-America Honors
St. Louis, Mo., May 9, 2012 — Washington University in St. Louis senior guard Dylan Richter was named to the 2012 Jewish Sports Review Men’s Basketball All-America First Team, as announced by the publication.
Richter, a D3hoops.com honorable-mention All-America selection, started all 27 games and was fifth in the conference averaging 16.4 points per game. The 2012 University Athletic Association (UAA) Player of the Year also led the team and the conference with 75 three-pointers made. Richter also picked up a pair of regional awards, earning first-team D3hoops.com and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) all-Midwest Region selections.
Richter became the 20th member of the 1,000-point club after scoring 20 points on Feb. 3 at the University of Rochester. He dropped in a career-best 33 points on nine three-pointers in a 99-88 win over No. 4 ranked Emory University on Jan. 29. Richter appeared in 102 career games and finished his career ranked sixth in school history in three-pointers made (152) and 19th on the all-time scoring list (1,112). He also competed in the 2012 NABC Reese's Division III All-Star Game on March 17 in Salem, Va.
Washington University finished the 2011-12 season with a 20-7 overall mark, and won the 2012 UAA Championship and made an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
