Spencer Gay Named to 2010-11 D3hoops.com All-Midwest Region Team

St. Louis, Mo., March 17, 2011 – Senior forward Spencer Gay of the Washington University in St. Louis men’s basketball team earned 2010-11 D3hoops.com All-Midwest Region honors, as announced by the website. Gay garners all-Midwest region honors for the first time in his career.
Gay, a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, averaged 16.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Bears. He reached double figures in scoring in 23 of 25 games, including eight games with over 20 points. Gay was first in the league in rebounding (7.5), third in blocked shots (2.0), fifth in field goal percentage (.540) and minutes played (34.2) and sixth in scoring (16.3) and steals (1.5).
He scored a career-high 23 points at Brandeis University on Jan. 23 and against at the University of Rochester on Feb. 13. Gay concludes his four-year career scoring 691 points and pulling down 358 rebounds in 77 career games.
The Washington University men’s basketball team finished the 2010 season with a 13-12 overall record and placed third in the UAA with a 7-7 record. The Bears also secured their 27th-consecutive winning season under head coach Mark Edwards.
