Sean Wallis to Participate in the 12th Pan American Maccabi Games

St. Louis, Mo., November 22, 2011 — 2010 Washington University in St. Louis graduate Sean Wallis has been selected to participate in the 12th Pan American Maccabi Games held on Dec. 26-Jan. 3, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Wallis was a USA Men’s Basketball Open Team selection.

Teams from Mexico, Brazil, Canada and Israel will be competing in the nine-day event. The team is coached by Stu Wittner, formerly of Pace University.

The team has had three mini-camps in preparation for the trip, and during the last one took on Columbia's JV team and a semi-professional team from the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League.

The roster consists of former Division III players Richie Polan (New York), Brian Nussbaum (Illinois Wesleyan) and David Liss (Pomona-Pitzer), and former Division I players from Syracuse, Binghamton and Nevada.

Wallis was a first-team All-America selection by D3hoops.com and DIII News in 2009 and 2010, becoming the sixth player in school history to earn All-America accolades in multiple seasons.

A first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) and D3hoops.com all-Midwest Region honoree, he wrapped up his illustrious career as the UAA and Washington University all-time leader in assists, and eighth in Division III history with 773 assists. Wallis also graduated ranked 13th on the Washington U. all-time scoring list with 1,216 points.

Wallis is currently working in Chicago at The Marketing Arm in its sports consulting group.
