Men's Basketball Cracks D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll at No. 25

St. Louis, Mo., January 30, 2012 – The Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team debuted in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll this week at No. 25, as announced Monday by the website. Washington U. is ranked for the first time since the 2010 preseason poll.
Washington University has a 14-4 overall record, and sits in first place in the University Athletic Association (UAA) standings with a 6-1 record. The Bears swept the University of Rochester (83-78) and then No. 4 ranked Emory University (99-88) last weekend at home to gain sole possession of first place.
Senior guard Dylan Richter averaged 28 points per game and shot 64.3 percent from the field in the Bears’ two victories over the UAA preseason favorites last weekend at home. Richter hit 12-of-20 from three-point range and connected on 8-of-10 from the foul line in the two wins. He scored a career-high 33 points and nine three-pointers in a 99-88 victory over Emory on Sunday.
Washington University begins the second half of UAA play at Rochester on Friday, Feb. 3, at 8 p.m. (ET), followed by a road game at No. 17 Emory on Sunday at Noon (ET).
