Brandon Brown Named to Preseason All-America Team

St. Louis, Mo., July 14, 2010 – Senior defensive back Brandon Brown of the Washington University in St. Louis football team was named a D3football.com Preseason First-Team All-American, as announced by the web site.
Brown, who was also named a Consensus Draft Services Seventh Annual Preseason Second-Team All-American in June, led the University Athletic Association (UAA) in interceptions (five) and passes defended (12), and was sixth on the team with a career-high 46 tackles last season. He earned D3football.com Second-Team All-South Region honors, and recorded an interception in five games a year ago and made a career-high eight tackles at Carnegie Mellon University on Oct. 31.
A two-time Academic All-UAA and three-time all-conference honoree, Brown has started 30-consecutive games at cornerback with 120 career tackles and 10 interceptions.
Washington University hosts Knox College on Saturday, Sept. 4, at Francis Field to open the season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
