Stoecker Caught Three TDs in Victory at Knox

St. Louis, Mo., September 7, 2011 — Washington University in St. Louis senior tight end Phill Stoecker was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, as announced by the website on Wednesday.

Stoecker caught a career-high six passes for 41 yards and three touchdowns in the Bears’ 28-10 season-opening win at Knox College on Saturday. He had a five-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter and a pair of three-yard scores in the third quarter.

Stoecker will make his 17th-consecutive start for the Bears on Saturday – 12 at tight end and five at offensive line.

Washington University (1-0) returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 10, for its home opener against Rhodes College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., at Francis Field. The game will be broadcast live on http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/wustl.portal#.
