2012 Graduate Easton Knott Inks Deal With Missouri Monsters in UIFL
St. Louis, Mo., August 29, 2012 — Easton Knott, a 2012 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, has signed a contract with the Missouri Monsters of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). Knott graduated in May with a degree in history and served as an intern with the St. Louis Rams during training camp.
“This is a special moment for me. Being able to stay here in my hometown and play professional football in front of family and friends will be a great feeling,” Knott said. “I am looking forward to being a Monster and using my status as not only an athlete but a local athlete to give something back to the community.”
Knott, the 2011 University Athletic Association (UAA) Co-Offensive Player of the Year, led the conference averaging 100.7 yards receiving per contest with four touchdowns in UAA games only. For the season he had 35 catches for 667 yards and 10 touchdowns, and closed out his career with more than 1,000 receiving yards.
A native of Chesterfield, Mo., Knott earned three letters in football at Parkway Central High School and totaled 17 catches for 399 yards and two TDs. Knott earned all-Suburban South honors in 2006 and 2007, and guided the Colts to a 12-2 record and a state finalist appearance in 2007.
“I am excited for this opportunity,” Knott added. “It crossed my mind of continuing to play football, but something I never took seriously. I was taken off guard after they contacted me.”
The Missouri Monsters are proud members of the UIFL, founded in 2010 by Andrew Haines & Michael Taylor. 2013 will be the third season for the league. The Monsters have a multi-year lease with the Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo. Training camp begins in February 2013.
