Former Football Coach Ken Henderson Passes Away at Age 64

St. Louis, Mo., July 31, 2012 – Former Washington University in St. Louis head football coach Ken Henderson passed away of kidney failure on Tuesday, July 10, at the age of 64.

Henderson, a St. Louis native, served as head coach of the Bears from 1980-82. He guided Washington U. to a 2-7 record in each of his three seasons, compiling an overall record of 6-21 (.222).

“Ken Henderson was a wonderful friend, a charismatic leader and a valued member of the Washington University community,” said Washington University Director of Athletics John Schael.

Henderson, the son of former St. Louis American writer Ken Morris-Henderson, also served as assistant football coach and head track and field coach at Washington U.
