Brown and Morman Named to D3football.com All-South Region Team

St. Louis, Mo., December 9, 2010 – The Washington University in St. Louis football team had two student-athletes named to the 2010 D3football.com All-South Region Team. Senior cornerback Brandon Brown highlighted the honorees by earning first-team honors, while junior punter Austin Morman picked up second-team accolades.
Brown earns all-South region honors for the second time in his career and for the second year in a row, but is a first-team selection for the first time. The University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Player of the Year, Brown made 40 tackles and had two interceptions as a senior. He also led the team and was tops in the UAA with 16 passes defended. Brown started all 40 games in his career making 160 tackles with 12 interceptions, which ties for seventh most in school history.
Morman, who earned UAA Special Teams Players of the Year honors, ranks second in the conference and 12th in Division III averaging 40.8 per punt. He landed 15 kicks inside the 20-yard line and had 13 punts of 50 or more yards, including a career-long 61-yarder in the season finale at the University of Chicago on Nov. 13. Morman ranks first in school history with a 40.3 average.
Washington University finished the 2010 season with a 7-3 overall record and placed second in the UAA with a 2-1 record.
