Washington University Football Announces 2012 Schedule
2012 SCHEDULE
St. Louis, Mo., January 4, 2012 – A season-opening match-up at home against the three-time defending NCAA Division III national champion University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a home game with national quarterfinalist Wabash College highlight the 2012 Washington University in St. Louis football schedule, as announced by head coach Larry Kindbom.
Wisconsin-Whitewater visits Francis Field on Friday, August 31, for the 2012 season opener at 8:30 p.m. The Warhawks enter the contest with Washington U. riding a 45-game winning streak. The Bears also host Coe College (Sept. 15), Kenyon College (Sept. 22) and No. 7 ranked Wabash (Oct. 13) during the non-conference season.
Washington U.’s non-conference road schedule features trips to Rhodes College (Sept. 8), DePauw University (Sept. 29) and Denison University (Oct. 20).
The Bears open University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Saturday, Oct. 27, against Carnegie Mellon University, and then close the season with road games at Case Western Reserve University (Nov. 3) and the University of Chicago (Nov. 10).

Seven of the 10 opponents recorded .500 or better seasons in 2011, with UW-Whitewater (15-0), Wabash (12-1) and Case Western Reserve (9-1) winning nine or more games and all capturing conference titles.
Washington University finished the 2011 season with a 6-4 overall record and placed second in the UAA with a 2-1 record. The Bears have recorded winning seasons in 20 of 23 seasons under Kindbom.
