WUSTL Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams Compete at Red & White Open
RESULTS
Naperville, Ill., November 1, 2012 – Several members of the Washington University in St. Louis men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the North Central Red & White Open Thursday. Both teams finished second at the meet.
The WUSTL men scored 32 points and were edged by Wheaton College (26 points) for first in the team standings. The Washington U. women also finished second, scoring 49 points to finish behind host North Central College with 22.
Freshman Arjun Kumar led three Washington U. men’s finishers in the top five, finishing as the runner-up in the three-mile race with a time of 15:12. Sophomore Andrew Catanese (15:13) and freshman Joshua Clark (15:14) followed in third and fifth, respectively. Freshmen Tyler Westenbroek (15:34) and Adam Streicher (15:39) placed 10th and 12th, respectively, to round out the scoring for the Bears.
In the women’s three-mile race, senior Lexy Millett (18:31) and junior Katy Barron (18:33) were the top finishers for Washington U., placing sixth and seventh, respectively. Senior Leslie Davis (18:40) finished 10th and sophomore Julie Mulvaney-Kemp (18:42) followed in 11th, while freshman Nicole Migotsky (18:50) placed 15th.
The Washington University men’s and women’s cross country teams are next scheduled to compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in Oshkosh, Wis.
