Senior Nick Vom Brack Named Third-Team All-Central Region
St. Louis, Mo., May 26, 2010 – Senior outfielder Nick Vom Brack of the Washington University in St. Louis baseball team earned Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) third-team all-central region honors, as announced Wednesday by the association.
Vom Brack, who was named a first-team All-University Athletic Assoication (UAA) honoree earlier this month, garners All-Central Region accolades for the first time in his career.
Starting all 32 games in the Bears’ outfield this season, Vom Brack led the team in batting (.387), runs scored (31), doubles (nine), home runs (seven) and slugging percentage (.639). He also ranked third on the team with 28 RBIs.
Vom Brack ends his career with 15 home runs, which places him in a tie for eighth place in school history. He had 15 multi-hit games in 2010, including a 4-fot-5 performance against Emory University at the UAA Championship; he tied the conference tournament single-game RBI record of seven in that meeting.
Washington University finished its 2010 campaign with a 17-15 overall record, securing the program’s 12th-consecutive winning season.
