Brandon Rogalski Named to 2011 UAA Championship All-Tournament Team
UAA ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
St. Louis, Mo., March 23, 2011 – Junior Brandon Rogalski of the Washington University in St. Louis baseball team earned 2011 University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Tournament Team Honors, it was announced Wednesday by the Association.
Washington University finished in third place at the 2011 conference championship tournament with a 3-3 record. Rogalski led the team offensively by batting a team-high .440 with six RBIs and a .520 slugging percentage.
Rogalski, who was also a UAA All-Tournament Team honoree in 2010, recorded four multi-hit games at the championship including a 4-for-5 performance against Emory University in the tournament finale on March 14.
He stole seven bases, three of which came in an 8-7 victory over the University of Rochester on March 12, and registered two RBIs against Case Western Reserve University on March 10, Brandeis University on March 14, and Emory on March 14.
So far this season Rogalski is leading Washington University in nearly every offensive category. He is batting a team-best .392 with a .633 slugging percentage, 17 RBIs, 14 extra-base hits and 12 stolen bases. Rogalski is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak and has recorded at least one base hit in 16 of 22 games played.
Washington U. (11-11) returns to action on Thursday, March 24, when it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for a single game at Kelly Field starting at 3 p.m.
