WUSTL Coach Steve Duncan to Speak at High School Coaches Clinic on Feb. 11

St. Louis, Mo., February 1, 2012 – Washington University in St. Louis head baseball coach Steve Duncan will be one of seven speakers at a high school baseball coaches clinic sponsored by the Greater St. Louis Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Busch Stadium.

Duncan is scheduled to discuss “playing aggressively in the BBCOR age” at 11:25 a.m. at the clinic. His discussion will center on the new rules for bats that the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) has adopted for the upcoming season. The NFHS previously allowed the use of BESR-certified bats in competition, but as of Jan. 1, 2012, high school baseball players will be required to use bats that are BBCOR certified. The change brings the NFHS to the same standards used by the NCAA.

The other six presenters at the coaches clinic include: former St. Louis Cardinals players Scott Terry, Todd Worrell and Andy Van Slyke, Vianney High School coach Scott Brown, Harrisburg (Ill.) High School coach Jay Thompson, and Saint Louis University coach Darin Hendrickson.
