Washington University Adds Jim Anderson to Athletic Training Staff
St. Louis, Mo., July 12, 2011 — Washington University in St. Louis Director of Athletics John Schael announced the hiring of Jim Anderson as an assistant athletic trainer. Anderson will begin his duties on August 1.
Anderson spent the last 26 years as the head athletic trainer for the St. Louis Rams, and made the move with the franchise from the West Coast in 1995. He will oversee coverage for men’s and women’s cross country and track and field, and assist with football, soccer and basketball.
Anderson arrives on the Danforth Campus with 31 years experience as a certified athletic trainer, at both the collegiate and professional level. He also spent three seasons as an athletic trainer at the University of Southern California from 1979-82, and the head athletic trainer for the Oakland Invaders of the USFL from 1983-84.
He is a 1979 graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, and is also an active member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), State of Missouri Board of Healing Acts and the American College of Sports Medicine.
