19th Annual W Club Golf Scramble a Success

St. Louis, Mo., June 15, 2011 – The 19th Annual W Club Golf Scramble was held on Monday, June 13, at Meadowbrook Country Club in Ballwin, Mo., and was once again a big success as 132 players participated in the annual event. Events included lunch, 18 holes of golf, a post-tournament banquet and a silent auction.

The winning team in the first flight was made up of Greg Marecek, Ken Bohlmann, Dave Johnson and David Jolley. The foursome shot an 14-under 58. The team of Matt Mattava, Rick Larsen, Todd Purdy and Shane Behl fired a six-under to win the second flight, while Matt Ortbals, Scott Lebbing, Jim Mazzio and Chris Doyle shot an one-under 71 to claim the third flight.

The W Club was established in 1989 as a formal way for alumni and friends to help support the programs and opportunities offered by the Washington University Athletic Department.

The 20th Annual W Club Golf Scramble is set for June 11, 2012, at Meadowbrook Country Club.
