Lee Ann Felder and Erica Jackey Named UAA Athlete of the Week
St. Louis, Mo., November 22, 2011 – Senior Lee Ann Felder of the Washington University in St. Louis women’s soccer team and senior Erica Jackey of the national champion women’s cross country team were named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the Association.
Felder scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute as the Bears rallied for a 2-1 win over the College of St. Benedict in the NCAA Sectional Semifinal on Friday. The game-winning goal for Felder was the eighth of her career, eighth most in school history.
Jackey ran a season-best time of 21:04.21 to finish fourth individually and lead the women’s cross country team to its first NCAA Division III National Championship in school history. Jackey’s fourth-place finish was the highest ever by a Washington U. women’s runner at the NCAA Championship.
