WUSTL Mourns the Loss of Cross Country & Track's Gabby Reuveni

St. Louis, Mo., July 16, 2012 – Washington University in St. Louis rising junior Gabby Reuveni passed away on Saturday, July 14, after being struck by a pickup truck while running in Palmyra Township, Pa. Reuveni, 20, was a member of the women’s cross country and track & field teams.

Reuveni was an Academic all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field as a sophomore.

She was also a member of the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship women’s cross country team. Reuveni was majoring in international and area studies/sustainable development and minoring in marketing, and also and a member of Alpha Phi sorority. 

The 2010 Paramus High School valedictorian, Reuveni is survived by her parents, Michael and Jacqueline, sister Jessica (18) and brother Zachary (16).

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 17, at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel in Paramus, N.J.

A campus memorial service is being planned for the fall.
