Senior Kathryn Berger Earns UAA Athlete of the Week Honors

St. Louis, Mo., November 29, 2010 – Senior Kathryn Berger of the No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis women’s basketball team earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week honors, as announced Monday by the conference office.

Berger scored 18 points to help lead Washington University (3-1) to a 78-48 victory over Augustana College on Sunday, Nov. 28, at the Washington University Field House in St. Louis, Mo.

Her team-leading 18-point performance came in just 22 minutes of action. Berger was 7-of-14 from the field and tied her career-high with four three-pointers. She also had five assists and a blocked shot.

Washington University hosts the 10th Annual McWilliams Classic on Friday-Saturday, Dec. 3-4, at the Washington University Field House. The Bears take on the University of New England on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a match-up against Ohio Wesleyan University or Elmhurst College on Saturday at 2 or 6 p.m.
