The Boathouse

Completed in 2004, the Boathouse on Creve Coeur Lake is a hidden gem. An anonymous Washington University donor who generously housed the crew program funded the boathouse. The vision was to create a facility that wouldn’t leave the athletes and equipment exposed to the elements.
Some highlights include three bays of boat storage, locker rooms, strength and conditioning space and an administrative office. The boathouse sits on a 320-acre (no-wake) lake, which was the site of the 1904 Olympic rowing events. When the conditions get windy, rowers can train in a creek-channel that flows into the lake.
Washington University shares the community-rowing center with St. Louis University and the St. Louis Rowing Club.
