Athletic Complex

 

The Athletic Complex consists of several facilities: the Field HouseFrancis Field, Bushyhead Track and the Tao Tennis Center. Francis Field and Francis Gymnasium were used for the 1904 Olympics, the third Olympic games of the modern era and the first to be held in the Western Hemisphere. The Field House was the site for presidential debates during the 1992, 2000, and 2004 presidential campaigns. The Athletic Complex was also one of the venues for the 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival.

Athletic Complex activity areas include:

  • a recreational gym with adaptable basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts 
  • an eight-lane pool with adjustable bulkhead and diving well
  • eight handball/racquetball courts; two squash courts
  • indoor and outdoor tracks
  • a full weight room and sauna 
  • and the McWilliams Fitness Center

 

Athletic Complex Membership and Locker Fees

Membership:
Membership fees are payable only at the Department of Atheletics main office located on the Lopata Mezzanine Level of the Atheletic Complex from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday

  • Appropriate identification must be presented to purchase a membership.
  • Fees are non-refundable and are reduced 50% on January 1.
  • There will be a waiting period of one business day before a membership card is issued.
  • There will be an additional $5.00 fee when a new membership card is issued.

Note: One-day guest passes may be purchased for $10

Lockers:
 

  • Locker fees are non-refundable and reduced 50% on January 1.
  • Yellow lockers located in the recreation locker rooms are for day use only.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

Athletic Complex:
Monday - Thursday: 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Friday: 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Millstone Pool:
Monday Wednesday: 
7 am - 8:15 am;
11:30 am - 1 pm;
7 pm - 8:30 pm

Tuesday Thursday:
11:30 am - 1 pm;
7 pm - 8:30 pm

Friday: 
7 am - 8:15 am;
11:30 am - 1 pm

Saturday & Sunday: 
1 pm - 3 pm

 

The weight room, fitness center, racquetball, handball & squash courts, and all gyms close 15 minutes prior  to the building closing.

The Tao Tennis Center, Francis Field and Bushyhead Track are open for recreational use during regular Athletic Complex hours of operation. These outdoor facilities are available from 7 a.m. until dusk or with the close of all activity areas, whichever is first each day. The facilities are not available when departmental programs are scheduled.
