In eight seasons on the Danforth Campus, head coach Leticia Pineda-Boutté (Leh-tee-cee-uh Pih-NAY-dah Boo-TAY) has posted a 251-89-1 overall mark, good for a 73.4 winning percentage.

The Bears have recorded eight-straight seasons of at least 25 wins under Pineda-Boutté, and have won four University Athletic Association (UAA) titles and made seven NCAA Tournament appearances.

In her second season on the Danforth Campus, Pineda-Boutté made her mark on the Washington University in St. Louis softball team, guiding the Bears to an NCAA runner-up finish.

Pineda-Boutté, the 2007 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Midwest Region Coach of the Year, led the Bears to a 35-7 overall record and their first-ever trip to the College World Series. WU also won its first regional championship and fourth-straight UAA championship.

In 2009 and 2010, she led Washington University to consecutive third-place finishes at the Regional Championship, while posting 27-13 and 37-11 records. The Bears recorded a 32-12-1 record in 2011, and made their sixth-straight NCAA appearance under Pineda-Boutté.

A three-time All-American at the University of Arizona, Pineda-Boutté wrapped up her first season at Washington U. with a 37-7 overall record and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. She and her staff also earned UAA Coaching Staff of the Year honors after leading the Bears to the UAA championship.

Pineda-Boutté, the second softball coach in program history, came to Washington University after serving as the assistant coach for one season at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. Prior to Purdue, she served as the assistant coach at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., for two seasons, where she primarily coached the pitchers, catchers and hitters. At Creighton, she helped lead the Bluejays to two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Pineda-Boutté began her coaching career as interim head coach at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs during the 1999-2000 season. She guided the Mountain Lions to a 21-26 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the team's first postseason appearance in four years.

Pineda-Boutté stands as one of the most prolific players in the history of University of Arizona softball. She is the only Division I athlete to be named first-team All-America at three different positions – catcher (1996), third base (1997) and first base (1998). She helped guide her teams to the College World Series in each of her four years at Arizona, bringing home the national championship in 1996 and 1997, while winning Pac-10 Conference titles in 1995, 1996 and 1997.

The three-time all-region and All-America honoree connected for 52 home runs in her career. Her 240 career RBIs rank 13th on the all-time NCAA list. Upon graduation from Arizona, Pineda-Boutté spent one season playing for the Tampa Bay Firestix of the WPSL in 1999.

Pineda-Boutté was selected to attend the 2007 NCAA Women Coaches Academy in Denver, Colo. She was one of 45 coaches to attend the event, which included head and assistant coaches from every NCAA sport and division.

A 2004 University of Arizona Hall of Fame inductee, she graduated from Arizona with a bachelor of arts degree in humanities in 1998. Pineda-Boutté earned a masters of art in management and leadership from Webster University in 2009.
