Kelly Lawson enters her fourth year on the athletic training staff at Washington University in St. Louis, and second as an assistant trainer. She spent the previous two years as an assistant athletic trainer intern.

Lawson, who spent a year as an assistant athletic trainer at Fontbonne University, will oversee coverage for volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's tennis and softball.

Lawson completed her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from McKendree University in 2006, and a master's degree in education from Fontbonne University in 2010.

She was a student athletic trainer at Granite City High School in 2006, and also served as a student athletic trainer at McKendree from 2003-06.

Lawson played two seasons of basketball at McKendree and was a two-time American Midwest Conference (AMC) All-Academic Team selection. She is also an active member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA).

The former Kelly Mitchell married assistant men's basketball coach Caleb Lawson on August 13, 2011.
